“Do not go gentle into that good night”

Recently  we have suffered a great loss; a beloved father, a great friend and an inspiring student Elias El-Nachef has passed away. If his name is not familiar to you, allow me to introduce him to you. Elias decided to get a degree in International Relations with his daughter in Pécs, and he worked hard between studying, providing for his family and being a great friend and father as well. The latter, for the people he loved, and it was effortless.

Elias has touched the hearts of so many in this little town, always greeting his friends and colleagues with the warmest smiles and giving a helping hand to anyone in need . He cared for the people he loved and was also like a father to me, truly accepting and loving.

He was an idol to look up to, a reminder that it is never too late to do what you want in life.

I have only known him for around three years, and I would spend countless hours at his house, in Hungary and Jordan, and I was always more than welcome in both. In these short years I learned so much from him, and from being around him; a man with values, charisma and kindness.

Life gets hectic and goes by so fast and sometimes we forget to slow down, look around us and appreciate what and who we have. We must also remember and honor those who pass through  by carrying them in our hearts in everything we do, in hope and kindness.

“Oh, how wrong we were to think immortality meant never dying.”

And Elias, you will now be immortal in our hearts and memories. We extend our deepest sympathies and prayers to his family and loved ones and may his beautiful soul rest in peace.
